People now days, prefer shower units over bath especially in the western. So it is important to know the word shower. But hold on, the bathing activity existed during the dark ages, but many research says that shower is using less water than regular bathing; it is also have some kind of relaxing moments while you taking shower.

Like the research says that bathing activity were already taken place in the dark ages, people at that time bathing in the rivers and streams. While showering taken place under the waterfalls, they using the falling water to washed away the grime and filth on their bodies.
